INVESTIGATION OF NATURAL ANALCIME-RICH ZEOLITE TUFF FROM TURKEY: A COMBINED XRD, XRF, FT-IR AND SEM STUDY

In this study, chemical and structural properties of natural analcime-rich zeolite tuff from Turkey that ion-exchanged forms investigated. The microporous structure the presence extra-framework cations are great importance for characterizing unique zeolites. Ion-exchanged (K+, H+ Ca2+) analcime were prepared with 1 M KNO3,1 Ca(NO3)2 HCl solutions in a shaker 6 hours at 80 °C. obtained samples characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), fluorescence (XRF), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. Quantitative XRD analysis showed major component was analcime, together varying amounts quartz, feldspar clay mineral.
